DigiPen Career Fair 2020
Date and time
Location
DigiPen Institute of Technology
9931 Willows Road Northeast Redmond, WA 98052Description
To Our Valued Employers:
Due to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus in King County, Career Services has made the executive decision to postpone the Career Fair to an undetermined date at this time. In lieu of an in-person Career Fair, we will be posting all resumes and portfolios of senior and master students for you to review virtually. Please be on the lookout for further communication regarding this matter.
Please note, while the Career Services team is unable to make specific student recommendations, we are more than happy to assist in any way we can to ensure you are able to interact with our talented students. If you are interested in a specific discipline to review, please email careerservices@digipen.edu and we will be able to assist you in your recruitment efforts.
We will be sure to continue to update the Eventbrite page for potential future dates as well as send out communication to those employers who were already registered for the event. Any questions, concerns, or comments can be sent to Courtney Ramsey at c.ramsey@digipen.edu. Thank you in advance for your support of our seniors and we look forward to having you on campus as soon as possible.
Once every spring, graduating DigiPen students showcase their projects to over 100 industry professionals from around the nation. Instead of a traditional career fair where the companies have booths, our students set up booths and display their projects, reels, and portfolios to top companies.
This year, over 100 graduating students will be participating in Career Fair from the following degree programs:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in Real-Time Interactive Simulation
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Game Design
Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Digital Audio
Bachelor of Arts in Game Design
Bachelor of Arts in Music and Sound Design
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Art & Animation
Master of Science in Computer Science
Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts
Over 100 projects will be on display, including (but not limited to) 3D cinematic animations, single and multi-player 2D platformer games, 3D platformer games, VR games and physics engines. Employers are encouraged to circulate through the displays, view or play the projects, ask questions, and collect resumes. Participating students are eligible for employment as a majority of them will be graduating in May.

Helpful Event Information and FAQs:
1) Is parking readily available?
Yes. On-site parking will be available; parking staff will be available to guide you.
2) How many people should I bring from my company?
In previous events, we have found that companies who bring at least 3 representatives tend to be more successful, especially if you are representing a larger organization. This allows you to engage with students without feeling rushed.
3) How do I prepare for this event?
As we approach the Career Fair, a web page will be provided to you with a list of student portfolios that you can view beforehand. We highly encourage viewing these portfolios prior to your arrival to prioritize who you meet with. Employers who do that tend to have a more successful and efficient experience at the Career Fair.
4) How can I get the most out of this event as an employer or recruiter?
To maximize your recruitment and networking experience, we recommend attending the Employer Mixer before the Career Fair begins to engage with members of DigiPen faculty, staff as well as other employers. If you do not have a defined set of hiring objectives, it is recommended to keep conversations to approximately 2-5 minutes, allowing for more time to engage with a larger volume of students. In past Career Fairs, employers often feel rushed towards the end of the event because they spent longer times in conversation.
5) Am I able to view students work prior to the event?
Yes! To view student work, please follow the below link.

6) How is DigiPen handling the current Coronavirus outbreak in King County?
DigiPen is working directly with Washington State Department of Health, King County Public Health, and is taking guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. We may enact a series of protocols developed with guidance from the aforementioned agencies and will continue to work with them if scenarios evolve.
At this time, DigiPen is proceeding with uninterrupted campus operations as there are no known cases or exposure at our campus. We will continue with increased sanitization and health safety practices throughout campus, and we remind everyone to use good hygiene practices to minimize the spread of germs. Additionally, we encourage students to minimize potential impacts by working from home when possible instead of the labs and avoiding large crowds.
